Welcome to Backyard Training Kennels, bird dog training is my passion. I have been training gun dogs since the year 2001. After many years sending dogs to trainers who did not deliver what they promised, I set out to learn all I could about dog behavior and the way they learn. My hunting dog training program is tailored to meet the individual needs of each dog. I have finished gun dogs for many satisfied bird dog owners. I also compete in AKC pointing breed hunt testing; I own and have trained the first English Pointer Master Hunter in the State of Texas.

I will be happy to assist you in any endeavor you decide to undertake with your bird hunting companion; be it competitive with AKC pointing dog hunt tests or upland bird hunting training. I specialize in handling client dogs towards AKC pointing dog hunt test titles.  

We are located 50 miles North of Dallas TX in Van Alstyne Texas. My kennels and premises are clean and free of parasites and disease. Your dog will be kept up to date on heart worm preventative, flea & tick control and any other medications and supplements he or she may require.
